Group Spiritual Direction for Men
Peter Watkins will begin a new spiritual direction group for men when a core of interested people as been assembled. Indicate your interest now, and he’ll begin the scheduling process when there is a core of 5 participants.
Why a spiritual direction group for men?
Our culture today is sorely lacking in places and opportunities for men to connect with each other in meaningful ways. Too often men find themselves isolated, cut off from each other, and lacking genuine community. Men need opportunities to give and receive real wisdom and support to each other through life’s real challenges.
What would we do?
In this men’s group we will practice the art of deep listening to ourselves, to each other, and to God’s Spirit as we build a community of wisdom and mutual support. We will assist each other in ongoing discernment, sharing our stories, questions, and hopes for our lives.
In a typical two-hour session we will each take uninterrupted time to share our stories and questions. We will refrain from trying to “fix” each other, but rather will offer evoking questions to help give each other new perspectives, encouragement and blessing.
Where would we meet?
We will meet in-person at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. Once we have enough participants we will find a mutually agreed upon regular time to gather.
What will it cost?
A contribution of $30 per person, per session helps cover the cost of the room rental, facilitation, and administration. However, participants will be welcomed whatever contribution level is meaningful and sustainable for them. (Register initially without cost)
